Bamboo publications by the author

While print publication was once considered the only effective means of distributing and publicising scientific results and knowledge for the benefit of mankind, the process has to some extent recently become controlled by a very profitable scientific publishing industry, some parts of which are now even considered in some quarters to be tending to exploit scientists and even restrict public access to scientific knowledge. Astute publishers and editors appreciate that free online publication of articles can greatly increase citation and consequently status, submissions, subscriptions and advertising potential.

In order to maximise access to publications resulting from my research, full or draft versions of most of my publications are reproduced in PDF format below. They are all still protected by copyright, and available only for reasonable use under copyright law. Much of the research was funded in the hope that satisfactory dissemination of the results would be achieved, and under Article 17 of the Convention on Biological Diversity, effective data repatriation is an obligation after study of the plants of other countries, such as bamboos.
